It all started in 1990 when Kim Tang simply loved cooking for her son’s birthday and dinner parties.
Her friends and family constantly encouraged her to open a restaurant, but she just didn’t want to be in the restaurant business. Soon enough, friends would order her home-cooking and cater for their parties. Then so this started a networking chain reaction, one guest to another guest, became, one customer to another customer. With her natural born talent of cooking and her secret recipes, she opened her first Kim Chau Restaurant in 1992 on Long Point.
The restaurant is named after Kim (mommy) and her husband Chau (daddy), which was cleverly thought of by Kim’s little lad, Tam.
Presently, the central location on Long Point, has been remodeled and is open for business.
